The ELGINKAN FOUNDATION
 


The foundation for the Elginkan Group, which provides services to the Turkish industry and which is proud of realizing the first production in many business branches, was laid with the Ekrem Elginkan Engineering Office in 1950 in Ankara. Its first field of activity was central heating installation, urban drinking water supply line and urban water network, dam, railway, and highway construction commitment works. Then, the 'Ekrem, Cahit and Ahmet Elginkan Collective Partnership' was established by Ahmet Elginkan and his sons Ekrem and Cahit Elginkan.

The group, which turned towards the industry with the 'E.C.A. Presdöküm Sanayii Limited Şirketi' in 1957, started producing sanitary installation armatures. From the day it was established, the Group has added yalf and armatures, ceramic sanitary ware, central and individual heating and cooling devices, gas and electric water heaters, household and mechanical appliances, cast iron products, molds, food, construction, industrial raw material production and marketing to its subjects of activity and reached its current product diversity.

Performing activities in various sectors today with its 3,000 employees and 19 companies, the Elginkan Group continues to provide its customers with quality products through its E.C.A., SEREL, ARSEL, EMAS, ODÖKSAN, ELBA, AR, YAK and SPİL SEREL trademarks.

Elginkan Holding A.Ş., established at the end of 1967, performs activities in such subjects as establishing all kinds of incorporated and limited liability companies with commercial, industrial, agricultural, and financial purposes, as well as financing, buying stocks and equity shares, and participating in capital increases of companies established in this manner.

In addition to these basic functions, the following are also included among the duties of the Holding within the scope of the general management of the Group;

• Developing, implementing, coordinating, and controlling external and internal participation policies, taking new investment decisions,
• Determining the management principles and procedures of the group and developing them according to changing conditions and in compliance with the objectives of the group,
• Developing financing policies, planning and coordinating large volume credits,
• Planning human resources and directing them in training,
• Selecting macro objectives, determining strategies, and making long term planning.
